Lovelady Fire & Rescue has a long history of helping Rutherford College and the surrounding communities. The department holds an ISO class 5/9 rating and operates from two different stations.
The department began with all volunteers in 1958 and has continued to grow. Currently, Lovelady Fire & Rescue is staffed Monday-Friday during the day with part-time personnel. We continue to have a roster full of volunteers that we rely on to serve our community and are always looking for new dedicated members.
The department responds to approximately 700 calls per year including medical, fire, and rescue calls. Members meet for training on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
